Dine Out Vancouver – Restaurants of Gastown

In case you haven’t been paying attention, it’s the time of year for Vancouver’s 12th annual Dine Out Festival. This unique dining experience spans over two weeks from January 17th to February 2nd and offers a wide range of prix-fix menu options from $18, $28, $38 price points. There are many culinary events to experience as well, including Brunch Crawls, Dinner Theatre, and a Food Photography Tour. This year there are over 200 participating restaurants in Downtown Vancouver and the surrounding neighbourhoods. With so many restaurants to choose from this year, I thought I would highlight some of my favourite participating restaurants. Here are my top picks for Dine Out Restaurants in Gastown.

Over the past decade,Gastown has quietly established itself as one of the top go-to neighbourhoods for food and drink. With inventive restaurants, world-class bartenders, and unparalleled atmosphere it is no wonder Gastown is a foodie’s dream come true.

Bambudda – $28

Bambudda is one of Gastown’s newest restaurants, having only opened its doors back in July. Specializing in Chinese food with a modern twist, the menu items are unique and thoughtful. The menu at Bambudda for Dining Out Vancouver is no different. The varying options include a Squid Salad, Crispy Pork Belly, and Persimmon Pudding. You can check out their complete Dine Out menu here.

Catch 122 – $28

Another fantastic option with a $28 menu is Catch 122. Not only does it have a clever name, it has an equally clever menu designed for Dine Out. Dishes include Wild boar terrine, Arctic char, and house-made panna cotta. The restaurant’s look as well as its menu draws inspiration from Gastown’s storied past. Wildebeest – $38

Voted Vancouver’s Best New Restaurant and Best New Design in 2013, Wildebeest has quickly become my favourite Gastown dining spot. Lamb tartar, BC Lingcod, and the Wildebeest cheesecake are some of the fair that highlight the Dine Out menu this year. With beautifully paired wines, the menu at Wildebeest stands to be a memorable one. View the Dine Out Menu here.
